Titans @ Bengals: What Could Be
The Titans had a close battle with the Browns. Unfortunately, they couldn’t close it out for the win. Cam Ward had another dismal day stat wise, finishing with 181 yards, 0 TDs, and 1 INT. Saleh keeps saying, “he’s not having big stat games, but he’s showing great improvement.” Which I ask, how? Ward consistently throws under 200 yards a game and seldom will have a TD in that performance. Tony Pollard was the Titans saving grace, finishing the game with 135 yards from scrimmage and 3 total TDs. Way to show out Tony P! When you’re the Titans, you need to win the winnable games that come across your schedule. And this was one of them. Their 32nd ranked offense and their bottom third defense unfortunately keeps getting in the way of wins. They just sold off Jeffery Simmons too, who is now a Chicago Bear. I don’t think a lot will change in Tennessee, so I’ll take the Bengals.
Cincinnati crushed the Ravens. It wasn’t close. Joe Burrow threw for 292 yards and 4 TDs. Their ground game fell short, but in this offense, passing always comes first. I’m impressed with how the Bengals handled this game. They left nothing to doubt. Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins combined for 11 receptions for 210 yards and 2 TDs. Nice to see those two have good games at the same time. The Bengals are always tricky because they show different teams every week. There’s this team, who smoked the Bengals, and then there is the Bengals that lost 22-17 to the Jags. There is still some lack of consistency with the Bengals, and while this was their second straight win, they still haven’t shown that dominance that we normally see week in and week out. I think they have a great chance to show that this week against the Titans.
