The Ok and The Ugly
The Raiders winning by 14 points in Week 1 was not on my bingo card for the start of this season. They did play the Dolphins, but a win is a win. The Raiders offense hummed along against a bad defense. Kirk Cousins finished the game with only 160 yards in the air but paired with 3 TDs and 2 INTs. More importantly, Ashton Jeanty looked like the guy we all thought he would be. Powerful, quick, and effective. 102 yards on the ground and 45 yards receiving with 2 TDs. Have a day, Jeanty. There is not much to contend against with the Dolphins offense, but this week’s opponent most certainly is a better team. Even if they didn’t show it last week. I need to see a strong start from the Las Vegas defense if they have a chance of winning this game. And less turnovers from Big Kirkio.
Chargers fans, what’s your excuse this time? Was your OL not good? Or your WRs bad? Or was Justin Herbert too focused on cuddling with Madison Beer at practice? (I am jealous I can’t lie.) Just a straight up beatdown from the Cardinals. The Cardinals! Who weren’t supposed to win a game all season! Anyways, the Chargers lost in disappointing fashion. Herbert finished with a fine stat line, going 17/27 with 209 yards passing and 1 TD and 1 INT. But their offense wasn’t enough against the, you guessed it, the Cardinals. And their defense was getting taken apart piece by piece. 3 out of 4 Cardinal drives in the first resulted in points, and the only reason that wasn’t 100% is because they missed a FG. Just an embarrassing performance from LA. Luckily, they get an opponent with about the same strength as the Cardinals, the Raiders. I fully expect the Chargers to win, but I would not be surprised if they fell apart like they do every time it matters.
