A "Lock"

We were unfortunately right about the Dolphins. They are going to have a really tough year. And it started last week against the Raiders. If you’re losing by 14 to the Raiders out the gate, you can pretty much kiss any dreams about a wild card goodbye. There were some legitimate bright spots from Miami though. Rookie Caleb Douglas looks like the real deal. He finished the game with 94 yards on 5 receptions. Malik Willis didn’t have the worst game either, going 15/27 for 220 yards with zero TDs and 1 INT. Is Malik Willis the real deal? Probably not but maybe let’s start trying to scheme for him a little more. Focus on his strengths. Get him on the run to extend plays and let the cannon show itself. Accuracy is a completely other discussion but let’s worry about one thing at a time. I like the 49ers at home against a semi-directionless team.

         How about the 49ers making a statement against the SB favorites for this year?? I am a believer in what a heathy 49ers team brings to the table. I’ll come out and say it, they can beat basically anyone healthy. That Shanahan offense is no joke, and it reared its beautiful head once more in Melbourne. Brock Purdy did his thing, going 25/34 with 205 yards 3 TDs, and 1 INT. McCaffrey had 88 total yards from scrimmage. Deebo Samuel, Mike Evans and Demarcus Robinson all recorded TDs. And their defense even recorded two turnovers. They took advantage of a slow start, bad scheme, or however you would like to characterize the Rams performance. The Niners were there and ready to eat it up. I expect similar fireworks from them in this game, as the Dolphins defense is no match for this offense. Let alone, this team.
