Texans @ Titans: Only Way Out, Is Up
Cheese and rice, the Texans are still winless. They couldn’t even hold their 10-point lead for more than a drive. The Texans’ defense is clearly an issue, as they sit 20th in the league in total defense. Which is a far step back from their 1st place defense last season. Can’t even hate on C.J Stroud if I wanted to. 347 yards passing on 21/31 attempts for 2 TDs and no turnovers. The run game could not get more than 62 yards on 19 attempts. The Cowboys are second worst in the league in run defense. But, to no avail. Here’s what I’ll say, if the Texans don’t beat the Titans this weekend, it’s time to blow up the entire thing. Demeco Ryans is not a bad coach by any stretch of the word, but something needs to change. Soon.
Another super misleading score from the Titans making you think they were close in this game. Let’s get some facts out of the way first. Lamar Jackson did not play the entirety of the second half. In the second half, despite being up 24-7 to start the half, the Ravens had 6 drives. Of those six drives, they scored on zero of those drives. The Ravens were basically done playing by halftime. This led to a single FG and TD from Tennessee. And then the Ravens ran time out and the game was over. Another week, another game in which the Titans can’t get going on offense until it’s too late. I don’t know if it’s Cam Ward, Robert Saleh, or Brian Daboll. But it’s someone. Ward did finish with 222 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT, but all these stats game in garbage time. It’s the battle of the bads, and I think I’ll ride with the team that has had prior success. Give me the Texans.
