Raiders @ Pats: Trust is Never Given

The Raiders just continually impress the NFL week in and week out. They went up against the powerhouse Chiefs and made them sweat all the way until the end. Kirk Cousins played another great game, finishing with 365 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT. Ashton Jeanty had over 100+ yards from scrimmage, as he was more than involved in the passing game. To be fair, who wasn’t involved in the passing game for the Raiders? Cousins hit NINE different receivers last week. They just look good and never out of games. No matter who they are playing, which is crazy to say about the Raiders. They have the 15^th best total offense, and 9^th best passing offense in the league, Again, it’s wild we are saying this about the Raiders. I do like their chances against the Pats this week, despite the impressive win they had over the Bills last week.

And just when you think it’s over, it is never over. After an absolute DOT to Efton Chism III for a TD, Drake Maye and the Pats would go up 3 points. A beautiful answer after the Bills scored on the previous drive. Here is where Bills’ fans were thinking Josh Allen was going to lead a comeback, I’m sure of it. But Allen took a shot deep to Josh Palmer, and the ball was picked off by the Pats. Game over. I didn’t think Drake Maye would throw for 269 yards for 3 TDs and 1 INT. But that he did. Maye looked so much more comfortable in the pocket making decisions and throws, so Pats’ fans can probably let out a sigh of relief. This is absolutely a step in the right direction for New England. This was not a Drake Maye legacy game by any stretch, but he was at least making competent decisions and throws that helped them win this game. And that’s all they need. The Pats don’t need an MVP season, they need someone they can trust at QB. And Maye earned back some of that trust. I am going to take the Raiders because they have been playing great football, but I like the Pats to not get blown over.
