Texans @ Chargers: Far-Sighted Delusions

The Texans are coming off a bye week after losing to the Giants at home in Week 7. The Texans did not have a lot going for them this game. I know the score shows 27-21, but the Giants were on top of the Texans gameplan. C.J Stroud had an alright day, going for 153 yards and 2 TDs. Their run game was held to just 84 yards on the day, and their lead pass-catcher was Dalton Schultz. And Tank Dell was back for the first time since 2024, so they had a full receiver corp. Houston is still struggling at 2-5, and after two straight wins, I think they were ready for their third against the Giants. The Texans’ defense was a huge problem too, as they 22 first downs, 420 yards total, and 188 yards on the ground. Houston needs to find an answer soon, and they get a chance to fix some things against the winless Chargers.

Here comes another short Chargers synopsis before their next beatdown! The Chargers got smoked against the Rams 24-9. Justin Herbert had 258 yards, but 0 TDs and 2 INTs. Right on par for Herbert this year. Their three running backs had a combines 49 yards on 21 carries for 0 TDs. I’m noticing a trend week to week. Ladd McConkey was finally back, as he had 4 catches for 86 yards. But you guessed it, 0 TDs. Justin Herbert also had another fumble, which was thankfully recovered, but I think he’s had at least one fumble in every game this season. Remarkable. Their shotty defense got washed out again, which was no surprise. My Uncle Paul will tell you they're “tanking for Jeremiah.” Well, they're tanking, but it’s not intentional. I think most of this team and staff needs to go as soon as possible. Good luck as they get a weaker Texans this week, who I’m sure the Chargers will make look like SB contenders.
