Is the year the Browns get out of their dismal cycle of football? I’m going to say no, only because they have a carousel of QBs that just aren’t that good. Maybe Deshaun Watson turns back the clock and lights is up under a sea of boos. Maybe Shedeur Sanders finally gets a shot with his choppy feet. Maybe Dillon Gabriel isn’t bad, (he certainly wasn’t in the last preseason game.) With the Browns, it feels like the same song and dance every year. Under a new regime with Todd Monken, maybe the offense can get off the ground, but with a now Myles Garrett-less defense, the Browns cornerstone just got weaker. I think it’s going to take a couple weeks to really see where the Browns are as a team.

Jacksonville is another one of those teams running out of excuses. They may get a little more leeway because their expectations are lower than some other teams, but the time is now to strike the iron. They finished last season winning 8 straight and going 13-4 before getting wiped away by Buffalo first round. I’ll say it; I’m expecting big things from the Jags this year. They finished 11th in both offense and defense, so they are as balanced as they come. They just have to push through the trenches and make an opening if there is not one present. They have the talent on both sides of the ball, now they just have to keep the pace of last season. I like the Jags against a weaker Browns defense than we have seen before.
