Packers @ Patriots: Lukewarm Soup
I give Jordan Love a lot of crap, but he leads all QBs in yards this year with 2,246 yards. I don’t love the way his ball lacks zip in a lot of situations, but hey, it’s clearly working for the most part. They took their offense and absolutely shoved it down the Panthers’ throat. Love finished with 288 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT. The worst run game in the league strikes again with just 66 yards on 22 carries with 1 TD, but Christian Watson, Tucker Kraft, and Matthew Golden each had over 50+ yards receiving. And Kraft and Golden both got into the endzone. I’d still like the Packers to clean up their turnovers, as they had 3 of them in this game, but they did what they needed to do against a seemingly weaker Carolina team. I like their odds against the Pats this weekend.
The Patriots are coming off a narrow victory against the Dolphins, in a game where they allowed Miami to stay present for way too long. The Dolphins stayed within one score of the Pats for almost the whole duration of the game. But a 46-yard TD pass to Demario Douglas put the game away as the Pats went up 11 points. Miami would then miss a FG, which they needed to stay within a one score of New England. Maye finished with 199 yards and 2 TDs, and their defense turned an INT into a TD on the next drive. It wasn’t their best game, but they got a win in their division, and they move one step closer to the division lead. Still some things to clean up, the Pats aren’t a powerhouse, but they could be.
