Jets @ Pats: The Good Times Keep Rolling
And the Jets do it again! New York notches their second win of the year against a then hot Browns team. It was the usual suspects for the Jets, except for one guy. Braelon Allen got his second full start with Breece Hall still out and he made the most of it. 116 yards on 24 carries and a TD for Allen. He had a late score in the 4th quarter to help put the Jets on top. Geno Smith found the endzone in the air once on 17/30 passes for 182 yards. Garret Wilson had himself a day with 7 catches for 104 yards and a TD. Everyone was calling for Aaron Glenn’s head after last week’s loss to the Bears, but things have seemed to simmer down after this win. Let’s see if the Jets can keep this momentum going against a Pats team that has found their way in the last two weeks.
Drake Maye finally had that game that made Pats fans say, “yeah, he’s back.” While I’m not personally sure if he’s entirely back, he certainly played like it against the Raiders. 374 yards on 26/34 passes for 4 TDs. Plus, Maye even ran one in for a score. The Patriots fired on all cylinders last week, offense, defense, even special teams were on point. Just an overall good game against a seemingly good opponent in Las Vegas. I would very much expect the Pats to carry this feeling and execution into their divisional matchup with the Jets. Since 2020, the Pats have a 10-2 record against the Jets. I’m thinking we will probably see it move to 11-2.
