Bears @ Falcons: Back to the Drawing Board
Ben Johnson now has a 2-6 record versus divisional opponents. I remember someone saying that the Ben Johnson scheme was bullet proof. That someone was me. I was proven wrong once again as the Bears got rolled over by the then 0-4 Packers. Not great QB play from either Tyson Bagent or Case Keenum who both got a crack at the game. They combined for 195 yards, 3 INTs, and 0 TDs on 23/40 passes thrown. Not what you wanted to see out of either guy. Their run game was neutralized, being held to just 81 yards, and their WRs did not find the endzone. They're probably praying for Caleb Wiliams to come back. And based on Ben Johnson’s interview, it’s not going to be this week. Let’s see how they bounce back against a firm Atlanta team.
Atlanta put up a good fight against the Ravens. They forced the Ravens to take them to OT. Michael Penix played great, going for 240 yards and 1 TD on 19/32 passes. It was unfortunate to see him get hurt in the last drive before OT, causing Tua to come into the game for the Falcons in OT. From there, it was not great. Atlanta let Baltimore put together a 14 play, 68-yard drive that turned into a TD. Then Tua came to bat, hit Drake London for 20 yards, and then threw an INT to end the game. A bad one too. Let’s just hope Michael Penix Jr. is back for next week, because I think the confidence goes down without him in the game. I like the Bears here, but if Penix plays, I flop back to the Falcons.
