Giants @ Commanders: Get Your Feet Out of the Mud

The Giants scoring 36 points on Sunday was the furthest thing I expected from this New York team. The Cardinals know how to score points, as it is one of the few things they can do this year. Especially, in the passing game. But the Giants defense was the real winner here. They allowed just 147 passing yards, 3 total TDs, and forced 3 INTs. In the 4^th quarter, the Cardinals had 4 drives, and they got points on none of them. Plus, most of those drives were three and outs outside of one which was just 4 plays. And I’m sorry, that goal line stand for four straight downs was SPECIAL. Deonte Banks seals it with a pick-6, and MetLife erupts. Shoutout to the Giants defense for getting pressure, forcing turnovers, and turning this effective offense into rubble. NYG’s offense had their strides for sure. A deep TD to Nabers, a little quick thinking for a Malachi Fields score, and a hell of a catch from Theo Johnson for a TD. Jameis had some terrible INTs, but if their defense keeps showing up, he can keep throwing picks, (WITHIN REASON.)

Much tougher outing for Washington across the pond as they took on the Colts. The Commanders started this game strong, and while the score didn’t show it, they were having their way with the Colts defense. It felt like a game in where the Colts lost with 3 mins off the clock in the 1^st. It didn’t help Washington that Marcus Mariota went down midway through the first half, leading 7^th round rookie Athan Kaliakmanis to take the reins. He was jumpy at first, but once he settled in, he was hitting some deep, accurate throws, specifically the 47-yarder to Treylon Burks. Kaliakmanis finished with 186 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. Jayden Daniels may be suiting up against the Giants this week, but if not, AK16, (I just came up with that because I got tired of spelling out his entire name,) will be ready. I like the Giants away this week, they have trended in the right direction and have momentum on their side. Washington needs some momentum, let’s see if they can get it this week in a divisional battle.
