Downward Spirals?

(ATL) Additions: Tua Tagovailoa (QB), Aevion Terrell (CB), Zacharian Branch (WR), Jahan Dotson (WR)
(ATL) Losses: Kirk Cousins (QB), Darnell Mooney (WR), Tyler Allgier (RB)
I’m having a hard time with Atlanta still. Even though it’s Week 1 and even though they under a new head coach in Kevin Stefanski, they are in QB trouble. Michael Pennix and Tua Tagovailoa aren’t exactly reliable options. That could change, but I’m not feeling too optimistic. They were a slightly below average team last year, and while they were playing out of weak NFC South and almost made a Wild Card game, they are still a little bit away from having true success. I unfortunately don’t think that change will be happening this season. However, with these new rookie additions on offense and defense, and a new scheme and culture, I could be very wrong. Which I always invite. Let’s check back in a couple weeks on ATL.
(PIT) Additions: Rico Dowdle (RB), Michael Pittman (WR), Jaquan Brisker (S), Jamel Dean (CB), *Drew Allar (QB)
(PIT) Losses: Kenneth Gainwell (RB), Calvin Austin III (WR), James Pierre (CB), Chuck Clark (S)
After taking almost the entirety of the off-season to make up his mind, Aaron Rodgers will be returning as the Steelers’ starting QB. Pittsburgh finished 25th in total offense last year, and 26th in total defense, but it didn’t really matter because the Steelers won their division by 2 games. I like the signings of Dowdle and Pittman, as that’s going to provide some dexterity to their offense. And bringing in some decent secondary to help smooth out their pass defense that finished 29th last year. I like the Steelers here at home Week 1, but for the sole reason that I don’t believe in anything Atlanta at the moment. Both teams are going to have to claw and scratch to see some light this season.
