Browns @ Steelers: They Don't Draw Pictures on the Scorecard
The Browns snapped off a second win in a row as they went wire to wire with the Titans last Sunday. Tennessee held off Cleveland for a lot of the first half, but the Browns were able to kick a FG on the last drive of the half to put them up 3 points. From there, they started to take control of the game. The Browns defense held the Titans offense and even forced a fumble an INT. Cleveland’s offense is not top tier, but their defense is for the most part. I’m impressed with their ability to gain that lead and then hold it for a majority of the game. They did let the Titans score late in the 4th quarter, but they set up a game winning FG on a 4 play, 55-yard drive. Deshaun racked up 308 yards in the air with 1 INT, and Judkins had 96 on the ground and 2 TDs, so there were guys making plays. The Titans aren’t good, but the Browns fought hard, and they get the win.
The Steelers had a shaky game against the Saints in the first NFL game held in France. It was just a sloppy game. Drives couldn’t get going, points were left on the board, and their defense was not performing at the level we are used to seeing. Even though they are the 6th best defense in the league, there are things to be cleaned up. It was not better on offense as I mentioned. Rodgers had 212 yards and 1 TD on 19/30 passes. Jaylen Warren had 137 yards from scrimmage and Rico Dowdle had 86 total scrimmage yards. Production was had, but points on the board were left. That was really the crux of the game too. Had the Steelers put together a better offensive performance, this game would’ve not been in question. The Browns had the Steelers number in their last matchup, but the Browns haven’t swept the Steelers in the regular season since 1988. History says Steelers, I say go Dawg Pound.
