Belief Works Both Ways

GIANTS FANS. HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY. They must be jumping for joy. The Giants had only won 2 games to start their season since opening MetLife Stadium in…2010. 2 times in 16 years. Once against the Panthers in 2010 and once in 2022 against the Titans. That was it until Sunday, where the Giants curb-stomped the Cowboys. So, now the question is where can this John Harbaugh led team go? To a divisional win? To a wild card? To missing the playoffs? All options are not on the table, and for the first time in AGES, half of those options are actually positive. Jaxon Dart showed why the NYG front office believes in him. He was decisive, smart, and made accurate throws and good decisions all game. He threw for 3 TDs on 230 yards passing, hit 6 different receivers and closed out the game effectively. This was a team win. There’s nothing else to say. The Giants put on a show for 4 quarters and didn’t let up. And their defense was alive and energetic, making plays and stops all game. They now get a sincere opponent in the LA Rams, who just came off a blistering defeat in Australia. Giants fans, in the wise words of Michale Strahan, “believe it, and it will happen.”

         While belief is awesome and I’m a big proponent of believing in yourself, you need to execute, and score points to win games. Unfortunately for LA, they did not of that last week against the 49ers. Matthew Stafford looked confused and rushed, making throws we are not accustomed to seeing from the 2025 MVP. Zero TDs, 1 INT and well below 200 yards passing. Their run game couldn’t get going, their pass game look neutralized, and their defense was getting cut up all game. There were definite bright spots from guys like Puka Nacua, but the team as a whole was off. Was it the time change or the team? I’m not entirely sure, but they get the Giants this week, who have shown to not be the same pushover team we are all used to seeing. The Rams better be on their “A” game, because another game like last week and the panic button will be pushed. I like the Rams at home because they’re the Rams, but don’t think the Giants aren’t coming in there to disrupt some of their plans.
