Saints @ Giants: Unlikely Outcomes

The Saints got absolutely rolled by the undefeated Vikings. The 3^rd best defense in the league got the best of Tyler Shough and the Saints this week and it wasn’t even that close. Shough finished with 96 yards, 2 INTs and zero TDs. They have very little run game going, as their ground attack finished with 55 yards on 17 carries, and no WR had more than 50 yards. The Vikings defense is real, and New Orleans felt that. I’m not worried too much about Shough, as I believe him and the offense will get back on track. But they face the Giants who have had some crazy defensive stands late in games the last few weeks. They aren’t the Vikings, but they have been effective.

It’s a win, no it’s a loss, no, it’s a tie??? What??? I couldn’t believe what I watched yesterday. I was sitting in the radio booth in disbelief of what I was seeing. The Giants had an impressive comeback against the Commanders in regulation, overcoming a 14-point deficit at the start of the 4^th quarter. Jameis Winston did his patented thing, which was play OK in the first half, turn on the jets in the second half. Winston made some key throws to Theo Johnson, Isaiah Likely, and Malik Nabers to bring the Giants all the way back. In OT, the Giants get the ball, drive all the way down the field, all to miss the FG. They force Washington to punt, get the ball back, and drive right into the redzone. This is when Cam Skattebo fumbled. And then we got the absolute biggest mental blunders I’ve ever seen in sports. The Giants will take this as a win, even though it’s not a win. They stay on top of the division, they have zero divisional losses, and the Eagles and Cowboys lost. The Giants continue to prove they won’t lie down no matter the situation. I like the Giants this week as I think they take advantage of this weaker Saints defense.
