Still no alarm bells in Detroit, but man, could you make a game against the Jets any more stressful? In all seriousness, I’m still giving the Jets credit for sticking this game out and making the Lions sweat. Detroit fended off this hungry New York team, and in their last drive, they had strip sack on Geno Smith that sealed the game. I’m happy to see the Lions’ defense finally making some plays to impact the game. All was normal on offense for Detroit of course. Goff finished with 269 yards and 2 TDs. Gibbs had 99 yards rushing on 20 carries and 2 TDs. AND, he had 65 reception yards and a reception TD. This guy is ridiculous at football. I like their chances against a Panthers team that seemingly took a step back last week.

This game was close the entire way. Kind of a classic back and forth between two teams wanting to prove something. The Browns proved that last week and again last night. The Panthers have been showing proof, and I don’t think last week’s game is indicative of a true setback. A step back as I said before is more apt. Bryce Young had a good game, concluding with 291 passing yards for 1 TD and 1 INT. Young hit 9 different pass-catchers in the game, which is good for him. In fact, Tet McMillan and Jalen Coker were at the bottom of the stat list for receiving yards this game. Let’s see Tet have a big game. More importantly, let’s tighten up on defense this week, especially against the Lions who are the 8th best passing offense thus far. While the Panthers total defense ranks 28th currently, they are the 5thbest passing defense. It doesn’t help that both Carolina’s starting CBs are out this game though. I think on that note; I’ll take the Lions. But I expect this game to be close.
