Falcons @ Saints: Decimation Nation
Are we getting another Michael Penix Jr. legacy game on primetime?? I still can’t get over his TNF performance last week. He absolutely DECIMATED a bad Packers team. The Falcons and Penix Jr. had their way with Green Bay. So much credit to their OC Tommy Rees. They switched from making Penix Jr. stand in the pocket, to getting the ball out quickly. Whether it was a toss crack, quick screen, or a slant, Penix Jr. was dialed in that offense. And then came the rhythm, which led to a 256-yard passing game and 1 TD and 1 INT. We can’t overlook the performances Bijan Robinson and Drake London had. Both of them, I repeat, BOTH OF THEM, had 194 yards each. The only difference was that Robinson got into the endzone twice. Just an absolute stomping. Their rush defense, which is 1st in the league by a big margin, only allowed 17 total rush yards. All game. What a game to have eyes to watch. The heat is going to get turned up in this divisional matchup versus the Saints.
The Saints have been playing really good football all year despite their 1-2 record. They have had some tough opponents between the Lions, Ravens, and undefeated Raiders. And in every game they’ve lost, they’ve only trailed by one score. They aren’t getting blown out of games, they’re just meeting some tough opponents in the gap. Tyler Shough had another impressive game, leading the 8th best offense to another really close game. He finished with 255 yards, 4 TDs, and 1 INT. I think things will turn for the Saints, and I think it’s going to be this week. The Saints need to tighten up their defense, as they are middle of the pack to the bottom of the list on both pass and rush defense. I think their luck will turn this week, as I don’t think the Falcons are going to have an offensive game like they had last week. And at this point, most teams are better than the Packers. Give me the Saints in the final game of the week.
