Giants @ Eagles: A New Vision
The Giants come off a bye week refreshed after winning in Houston as 9.5-point underdogs. J.J McCarthy played lights out, hitting throws I see a lot of QBs struggle or are even too hesitant to make. It was impressive to say the least, as he finished with 252 yards on 20/28 passes. One of the big heroes of this game was the RB committee. Yes, the committee. Skattebo had a career day going for 124 yards on 17 carries and 1 TD. But Tyrone Tracy had a TD early, and Devin Singletary closed out OT with a 30-yard TD run. On top of that Deonte Banks is truly playing sticky coverage, as he held Nico Collins to just 2 catches for 6 yards. And yes, he followed him all game. In another game the Giants supposedly had no chance in, they remain the team that comes out on top. You can thank John Harbaugh for that one. The Giants keep rolling as they head to Philly, and I’ll take the Giants here as they have momentum and less key injuries surprisingly.
The Eagles just got walked by the Commanders in their own stadium. They have now lost 6 straight games, and there seems to be no cure. Saquon is in and out of the game with injury, DeVonta Smith ended up not playing in that game, and they don’t have Jalen Hurts. Their defense, which is supposed to be their saving grace, got walked through again, as they gave up 27 points and 339 total yards. Tanner McKee had an OK game last week, finishing with 212 yards and no turnovers, but you need points to win games. And clearly, if Saquon doesn’t give you that first TD, Philly walks out of that game with no points. It’s getting darker and darker in Philly.
