Bears @ Packers: (Un)Planned Execution
The Bears routed the Jets on Sunday. 89 offensive plays and 32 first downs. That is CRAZY. Tyson Bagent didn’t look bad at all, and outside of his 1 INT, he finished with 268 yards on 25/34 throws. And I am impressed at Bagent hitting nine different pass-catchers, all for positive yardage. Kyle Monangai showed some more power in that 1-2 punch with him and Swift. He finished with 30 carries for 146 yards and 2 TDs. Caleb Williams has already been ruled out, so we will see either Bagent or Case Keenum. At this point, Ben Johnson has proven it doesn’t matter who is starting at QB. The Bears are still going to play their game as they sit 1st in the NFL for total offense. I like the Bears again, but it’ll be a close divisional game.
The Packers finally got their second win! Against a team with no wins! Matt Lafleur wanted to lose that game; I’m convinced. The Packers had two turnovers in the redzone that kept the Bucs in the game until the very end. Jordan Love had just 197 yards and 2 TDs against the 4th best defense in the league. The Packers still haven’t quite figured out their problems yet, but to be fair, neither have I. Well, outside the fact that Jordan Love isn’t that good and Lafleur is an OK head coach. The Packers sit in the middle of the list for both total offense and defensive rankings, so they need something to give on either side of the ball. Whichever it is, take it and run with it, and you might just find yourself with the lead.
