49ers @ Seahawks: Hot Hands
Brock Purdy is looking like an early MVP candidate. He finished last week’s game against the Broncos with 218 yards on 19/30 pass attempts and 2 TDs. So far, Purdy has thrown for 1,007 yards, 11 TDs, and 1 INT this season. He has a 69.9% completion record and has taken ZERO sacks. I know San Francisco has weapons, that much is clear, but Purdy is leading this team. And it’s fun to see. As they take on the Seahawks this week, I think the game plan remains the same. Just keep doing what has been working, don’t turn the ball over, and keep putting distance between yourself and your opponent. I like the Niners this week, but Seattle is always ready to shake some things up.
The Seahawks typical offense is still not up to snuff, but good teams find ways to win, and Seattle was no exception. With Jadarian Price on IR, it was time for Emmanuel Wilson to be the bell cow. Wilson finished with 21 carries for 81 yards and 1 TD. He also had 3 catches for 39 yards and 1 receiving TD. Impressive stuff from the former Green Bay Packer. Even JSN had a relatively quiet day by JSN standards, going for 76 yards on 5 catches. The Seahawks sit behind the current best defense in the league, as they’ve only allowed 987 yards this season. That’s an average of about 246 yards a game. With the defense locked back in, it’s time for the offense to find its consistent stride. When Seattle does that, they will be as dangerous as last year. Until then, I still got the Niners.
