Packers @ Bucs: The Shovel and the Hole

In the words of Matt Lafleur, he doesn’t “know what [they’re] doing right offensively.” Spoken like a true head coach in a hole. That about sums it up right there; the Packers don’t know what they’re doing. I don’t care that Jordan Love had 312 yards and 2 TDs; those are what we call “garbage time stats.” The Packers were down 27-7 at one point in the 4th quarter. They let Michael Penix Jr. come in on his first start after enduring injury after injury and throw for 256 yards and a TD. Bijan was hot, Drake London was hot, and the Falcons offense was on point. And the Packers? They basically stood by and watched as they got run and passed over. There is not much going on for Green Bay right now. The only hope is they get to play a backup QB for Tampa Bay.

And that backup QB for the Bucs is no other than Jalon Daniels. Daniels, a rookie from Kansas, has that stereotypical cannon for an arm. He let it fly on that Hail Mary and there was some serious power behind it. But Daniels is going to have to do more than throw it far, he needs accuracy and timing. This will be his first true start in the NFL as Baker is out with a dislocated thumb. Tampa Bay just needs better offense. They have not put together a truly good offensive performance thus far. Week 1 they had some flashes, but it was in an attempted comeback. Get ahead of this bad Packer team early and the win is basically theirs. But a lot will be contingent on Daniels’ QB play. Give me the Packers in a close one. Just can’t take a rookie QB on a struggling team.
