Jayden Daniels showed last week, again, why he will be the favorite for Rookie of the Year this year. No disrespect to Bo Nix, he’s up there for sure. But after watching Daniels throw for 5 TDs against the Eagles, I don’t know how you couldn’t vote for him. He was 24/39, throwing for 258 yards plus, 81 yards on the ground. This guy is ridiculous. Against the Eagles!! I know I said that already but that can’t be understated. Beating good teams is vital for a young QB’s success, and Daniels can keep adding these things to his growing pedigree. He hit eight different receivers last week, he was their leading rusher, I’m surprised he didn’t go out there with the defense and record a couple tackles. He really is the guy for Washington. I don’t imagine after last week’s game; they will lose their step to an unseasoned Michael Pennix in his second straight start.

The most insane stat of the year is that the Falcons are top half or better in both total offense and defense this year. But, as discussed over the weeks, they really can’t get anything to stick. They were able to beat a bad Giants team last week, but this week they got much stiffer competition. When you add the little fact that they’re just behind the Bucs for the division title, (who play the Panthers this week), and this game is a must win, there is definitely some motivation to be had. Maybe Pennix brings a new spark that Kirk Cousins was unable to bring. They just need to win this week, because the Bucs aren’t losing to Carolina. I mean they could, but they’re not. So just take this game, play like your season depends on it, (it does), and take what’s in front of you. That being said, I believe there is very little shot this average defense puts up resistance to this blazing offense. Sorry to build them up, only to knock them down.

POSTGAME:

Jayden Daniels is good at football, and the Commanders are heading to a wild card game. They fended off a gritty Falcons team who are still fighting for their playoff spot, but Atlanta shot themselves in the foot by losing. They took the control they had of the division, out of their hands into Tampa Bay’s hands. Now, the only way to make the playoffs is by winning this upcoming week’s game, and having the Bucs lose. Atlanta was churning this game too. Michael Pennix played a great game for coming in during a weird part of the season, but he still needs time to find his footing. Not saying he played bad or needed work, he will just need more time on task before evaluating his chances in the league. They’ll get to see him next year, as the Falcons will be releasing Kirk Cousins at the end of the year. Congrats to Washington, as they have had a tumultuous history of losing and I’m glad to see them turn it around with their young QB.
