Colts @ Commanders: The One Trick Mustangs

Daniel Jones and the Colts finally squeak out a victory against a bad Houston team. It was not a performance to be proud of, on any front, but a win is a win. Jones finished the game with 235 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, and 3 fumbles in which only 2 were recovered. DJ needs to tighten up or he’s going to hear it again from the fans and media alike. Even Jonathan Taylor had a subdued day with just 68 yards on 23 carries. I’m glad the Colts won, because C.J Stroud is out here throwing to mailmen with no OL to protect him, (yes, I just defended C.J Stroud, I feel bad for the situation he’s in.) Indy needs to tighten up on defense first, then work out the kinks on offense. This team has offensive talent, but that success will be hindered by their defense. As it almost was last week.

         Marcus Mariota, you now have my attention. Sure, you didn’t hit as many throws as I would’ve liked in a perfect world, but that’s why perfect world scenarios are unrealistic. You’re talking about a 32-year-old veteran who stayed ready and helped his team win. 19/31 passing, for 183 yards and 3 TDs. ZERO TURNOVERS. That is always big when your backup is not turning the ball over. Not a whole lot doing in the run game, but Washington’s defense helped secure the win. 2 INTs, one being a pick-6, and a fumble recovery. And each takeaway led to points. That’s how you stick it to the defending SB champs. I actually think I like the commanders at home, but this game can truly go either way.
