Bucs @ Panthers: Adjusted Sails
The Bucs fought the good fight against Pittsburgh this weekend. Unfortunately, Tampa Bay went home without their second win on the season, despite taking the Steelers to OT. The Bucs had two different leads of 13 points, both of which occurred in the second half of the game. Tampa Bay let the Steelers throw all over their defense and allowed 4 drives to result in points for Pittsburgh in the 4th quarter. The Steelers only had 4 drives in the 4th quarter… They just needed to stop one of their drives and they win the game. The 4th best defense in the league left a lot to be desired in this game. Jalon Daniels definitely took a step back, finishing with 164 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs. Nothing really clicked for the Bucs’ offense this game, and that’s a huge part of the reason they lost. Let’s see if Baker is coming back this week, as he just reported for practice today. Tough opponent in the Panthers though, and I will be taking my boys in blue.
I’m happy to see how this game played out. Not because I hate the Eagles, (maybe a little), but because Philly was so injury infested, this was a game Carolina needed to prove they could win with ease. While the Eagles did creep up to within 5 points of the lead late in the 4th quarter, the Panthers were able to score again to go back up 11 points. Bryce Young did his thing, finishing with 282 yards and 2 TDs. Chuba Hubbard had 120 yards on 28 carries and 1 TD. Just a good solid game from Carolina, and they will continue that execution and precision against the Bucs.
