Unexpected Positions

We did not expect to see these two teams in this position at this time of the year. It’s shocking. And that’s putting it mildly. Both teams sit at 6-8, (yes, 6-8) and are basically both out of the playoffs unless they both win out. Which isn’t possible. One of these teams must win this game, making the other team’s chances obsolete. I really don’t know who is going to win, because this is a toss-up. Like a lot of teams, the Niners have a lot of key injuries, but they have been lukewarm before those injuries. They haven’t been below .500 winning percentage since 2020, and while their offense is 8thoverall and their defense is 3rd overall, they are on the edge of getting bounced. I’d like to think Brock Purdy is going to get it together and play to the level we are all accustomed to seeing. In his two games in December, Purdy has only 561 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. With all your weapons out, it’s not time to prove the haters wrong, because it’s clearly not all on Purdy. But they need to play a complete opposite game to the game they played last week in their loss to the Rams. 191 total yards will not do. Purdy needs to lead this team if they want to win. Stay composed and pay your game.

Another disappointment this season has been the Dolphins. Miami is having an opposite year to their season last year. They were 1st in the league in total offense last year. Tyreek Hill was unstoppable. They had a ridiculous running back room that was scoring at least two TDs a game. This year, however, Miami ranks 19th in total offense, and Hill only has 804 yards and still, just 5 TDs. Jonnu Smith has five of his six TDs in his last five games. Nevertheless, the Dolphins aren’t where they want to be right now, and that’s OK, (I guess), because they can still mathematically make the playoffs. Only if the teams ahead of them lose their games and the Dolphins win their games. And that brings us to this game where I only have one piece of advice for Miami’s success; throw Tyreek Hill the ball. Force it to him, I don’t care, but he needs to be the number one option and target at the end of this game. It’s not like he’s one of the better receivers in the league or anything. Plus, with this continued success from Smith and Jaylen Waddle, it should open up opportunities for Hill, no? What do I know though. I like the Dolphins here only because they will be home, and they are 4-3 at home, while the Niners are 2-4 away.
