Top 5 WRs (2026 Draft)

I think a true football fan and ball knower, (I’m not saying I am one of those people by the way), really enjoys a good WR doing his thing. Nothing says football to me like a good WR running a nice route and making a hands catch. It’s visual music. Route crispiness is a real measurement. Look it up. Anyways, let’s see who’s on my list.

1.    Carnell Tate

Top of my list for WRs goes to Carnell Tate from OSU. OSU receivers are bred different. They all seem to be a couple steps ahead of everyone else, apart from LSU WRs. Tate is no different. I see a mix of JSN and Emeka Egbuka. The precision in which he runs route is scary. He high points the ball like a center grabbing a rebound. He catches with his hands not his chest. He can track a ball like a centerfielder and knows how to sit in soft spots of the zone. He also is stellar at catching through contact. Tate doesn’t have game-wrecking speed and can’t run block super well, but that’s not stopping any team that needs help at the WR position.

2.    Jordan Tyson

Tyson is just as good as Tate. If you watch tape of Tyson, there is one thing that is apparent. He gets open. Plain and simple. He is the best contested catcher in this draft. He blocks extremely well and his get off is spectacular. There are issues with his medical history, his smaller frame, and some concentration drops. All those things can be overcome. Tyson is going to be getting open for some lucky NFL team.

3.    Makai Lemon

Makai Lemon is another phenomenal prosect in this year’s draft. He is a leverage King, using it to his full advantage. He’s got incredible hands and makes some ridiculous catches, contested and uncontested. He sinks his hips well and can find the weak zone spots with ease. He also blocks well, tracks the ball nicely, and gets two feet down. Practicing for the big leagues huh. He has some issues with his get-off and is smaller than a typical WR. He isn’t super physical and isn’t great after the catch. But I promise, watch him get open. He's getting taken in the 1st-2ndround.

4.    Denzel Boston

Talk about a true X receiver and red-zone threat. Look no further than Denzel Boston. He looks like a WR. Great size, big body, great hands, and is dominant in the red zone. He is a powerful blocker and runner, and he will catch it through contact. He has trouble with his release package and general separation. He's also not making you miss after the catch, but I mean, good luck getting it from his hands. Boston is a guy for a team that needs a red zone threat and need a bigger body.

5.    Omar Cooper Jr.

Think Kadarius Toney, but without all the rapping and not being good at football. Cooper Jr. is a physical receiver despite his smaller size. He demonstrates ridiculous lateral separation, beautifully run routes, and has crazy speed and acceleration. And good luck after the catch! Like Rocky trying to catch that chicken. There is concern with his contested catch ability and kind of disappears when it’s time to block, but change that mindset within him, and you got a burner with after burners. Let’s see which team takes a swing.
