I will not spend this post writing about how good Baker Mayfield is. I will not spend this post writing about how good Baker Mayfield is. Well, I lied. Baker Mayfield is coming to rain fire on the Dallas Cowboys, who get to play at home this week! I bet every time they look at their schedule and see a home game, they cringe slightly. They have to. The point I’m making is that Mayfield has been nothing short of lights out, and the Cowboys have been nothing short of abysmal at home this year. Baker straight up dismantled the Chargers last week, throwing for 4 TDs on 288 yards, only missing FIVE throws on the day. Impeccable. Against a current playoff team in the Los Angeles Chargers. The gameplan will be simple for the Buccaneers this week; keep playing the way you have been, and you will be fine. While their defense is objectively not good, they did hold the Chargers to just 17 points and forced a couple turnovers, which helped secure their win. 27th in defense or not, they performed, and they’re going to need to do similar things against the Cowboys. But, if Baker can throw for 4 TDs and 200+ yards with zero turnovers again, I think they take this game. Remember, they’re 1-6 at home, (they beat the Giants.)

The Cowboys, however, need to flip that script and end this insane curse of not winning games at home (again, I don’t count the Giants.) Cooper Rush probably had the best game of his career, going 18/29 throwing 214 yards with 3 TDs! All jokes aside, great performance. What’s that? The jokes are back, because it was against the Panthers. Couple their injury-ridden, mismanaged team with an inability to win at home, let’s just say they’re going to have a tough time this week. But, they’re still not out of it. They need to win out and probably have a couple teams ahead of them lose, but the path is potentially there. They have to leave some of their fate to other teams, which is their own fault, but if you can beat a tough Tampa Bay team this week, they may start to find something. With that being said, I don’t think they’re winning this game. Remember, they’re 1-6 at home, (they beat the Giants.)
