I think this season is huge for C.J. Stroud. Not because he needs to prove anything, but he needs to assure the team and fanbase he’s still got it. Stroud struggled last year. Much more than we have seen him in his short career. He threw for about 400 less yards, 2 less TDs, and 7 more INTs. It’s the yards and INTs that has people worried. He did not have Nico Collins for part of last year, and Tank Dell was out due to injury late in the season. Collins, despite being out for 5 games, still recorded +1,000 receiving yards and 68 receptions. I am not worried about their defense. Led by Demeco Ryans, this team can defend. They finished 5th in the league last year. Texan fans, it’s simple. Reinstate the confidence in Stroud. Let him lead you in a positive direction, trust your defensive HC, and see where the season takes you. Their defense is so good, all they need to worry about is moving the rock downfield.

Matthew Stafford has been cleared for Week 1, and I’m sure Rams fans let out a collective sigh of relief. Stafford, who is 37 years old, is the model of consistency for a QB. Since 2011, Stafford has only thrown under 2,500 yards twice. I’ll repeat that. Since 2011, Stafford has only thrown for under 2,500 yards twice. Saying that out loud is insane. And he came from an age where QBs used to throw for 4k-5k yards and 35 TDs on the regular. Now, we are lucky to see that, and if we do, it’s an automatic MVP season… Anyways, Stafford may be in his last year, and while that has yet to be determined, he is still going to come out slinging. The Rams lost Cooper Kupp, but brought in Davante Adams to fill that gap. He may not fill it, but it’ll be damn close. They finished 10-7 atop their division, handled the Vikings in the Wild Card game, and then fought a good fight against the Eagles. I really expect the Rams to be in similar situations this season. Their offense needs to be more productive, and their defense needs to defend, as both sides of the ball were ranked middle of the pack last season. I like the Rams because I trust Stafford and with Stroud’s struggles last year, he may not come out jumping.
