If you’re a fan of football, you’re a fan of Joe Burrow. Simple as that. The fact that he took a bottom tier Cincinnati team and almost single-handedly brought them to the playoffs is something that shouldn’t be understated. They secured Tee Higgins for four more years, the Triple Crown winner is going nowhere, and as long as Burrow stays healthy, this team will be competing. If they can marry their defense with that powerhouse of an offense, sheesh. They were 9th in total offense last year and 1st in the passing game. The problem was their defense that ranked 25th in the league and let up around 26 points per game. Clean that up immediately. Do not waste Joe Burrow any more than they may already have. Get him more protection, pair him with good defense, and the sky is the limit. Maybe beyond. I think more than likely the Bengals will blow by the Browns in Week 1, but look to see how that defense plays. If they can make the Browns offense look even worse, and Joe Burrow is Joe Burrow, they will be dangerous.
As for Cleveland, well, what’s different? They probably remain about the same at QB, going from Jameis Winston to Joe Flacco. There has been enormous talk about Shedeur Sanders; his draft stock, his play on the field, his depth chart placement, etc. I think if you’re a Browns fan, you just must wait and see. Cleveland always has a good defense, which led by Myles Garret, so that will be the backbone again for them. Adding DT Mason Graham and LB Carson Schwesinger in the draft was an A++. When it comes to defense, Cleveland always knows how to utilize their guys in the right ways. But back to the offense. Cleveland fans, lets Flacco go until his knees give out, (most likely scenario), and then see how your two draft picks are. I’m sure they will inevitably see the field at some point this season, it’s just a matter of when. I personally don’t think either QB is the future of Cleveland, or maybe anywhere, but when they get their shot, let’s see how they do against starting NFL defenses. The Browns have some things to work on this year. I don’t think they get run down in game 1, but I don’t think they win either.
