The Cowboys may be eliminated from the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean they can’t make it harder on their division rivals this week. They just beat Tampa Bay at homelast week, so they finally got that monkey off their back, and they’ve won three out of their last four. They get to play away this week, but they are 5-2 on the road this year so that is definitely something in their favor. I tried as long as I could, listed out all the positives the Cowboys have that may help them win this week. I just don’t believe a CeeDee Lamb-less Cowboys can roll into Philadelphia and take out one of the best teams in the league. The Cowboys are about as average as it gets on offense statistically, against the best defense in the entire league. I don’t think the momentum they have had is going to be enough to beat this powerhouse of a team. Cooper Rush played another nice game last week, but it was against 31st rank passing defense in Tampa Bay. Different animal this week.
I don’t think the absence of Jalen Hurts should be all that concerning if you’re an Eagles fan. The loss last week wasn’t great, but you’re already in the playoffs, your starting QB left the game early, and Kenny Pickett didn’t do terrible for being put in a tight spot. 143 yards and 1 TD is not bad, but who do you think kept this close? It wasn’t Kenny Pickett. Saquon Barkley had 150 yards on the ground and 2 TDs. A.J Brown had 97 yards and a TD which is great, but Saquon is the catalyst. They have the 6th best offense in the league and the best running game in the league. Barkley is only 268 yards away from Eric Dickerson’s single season record of 2,105 yards. He’ll be once again set off the leash this week which will lead to another Eagles win.
POSTGAME:
The Eagles are still real, in case you forgot. Or closed your eyes. Or had amnesia. You would have to willingly ignore their success if you were unaware how good they are. Just cleaned up another bad team in Dallas without their starting QB. Kenny Pickett? No problem, he’ll fit right in. And fit in he certainly did, as he finished going 10/15 for 143 yards and 1 TD. He and this team played so well; they ended up putting in their third string QB, Tanner McKee, in the third quarter. Against the Cowboys starters. And then he proceeded to go 3/4 for 54 yards and 2 TDs. Saquon Barkley ran for 167 yards, meaning he’ll only need 101 yards against the Giants to break the record. You know he’s getting that next week. As for the Cowboys, make Jerry Jones sell the team. Just saying that again to remind you, it’s going to be tough uphill sledding until that day.
