This will be the first divisional matchup of Week 14, and it’s looking like it’s going to be a good old-fashioned shoot-out. The Lions, playing for their franchise record 11th straight win, hope to clinch the #1 seed in the NFC above the Eagles and Vikings. They have been consistently able to put up points on teams, with the second total offense in the NFL behind only Baltimore. They put up around 400 yards a game and score almost 32 points a game. They lead the league in that, no shocker they are the best team in the league, and you can argue with a wall on that one. But the Packers, while still somewhat inconsistent, seem to have found something last week on Thursday against the Dolphins. Granted, the Dolphins can’t play in the cold and have proven that time and time again, but the Packers executed with precision. Jordan Love was 21/28 with 274 yards and 2 touchdowns to Jayden Reed, with zero interceptions. They have won three out of the last four, that one loss being to the Lions, and Love and the offense have been humming, putting up 68 in the last two games. Let me amend my statement from the beginning, this game is either going to be shoot-out, or a defensive masterclass. While these two teams statistically are middle of the pack defenses, they have some fire on both teams, namely Xavier McKinney and Kerby Jospeh, who both lead the NFL with 7 INTs a piece. Nonetheless, I anticipate a good one in the Motor City.

POSTGAME:

You could call it guts, valiance, or even stupidity, but no matter what you call it, you can’t deny the belief this team has in themselves. The Detroit Lions demonstrated again last night why they’re going to be favorites to win the Super Bowl, (I said what I said.) The Packers didn’t even play a bad game, Josh Jacobs had 3 rushing TDs and Christian Watson had over 100 yards receiving, they just couldn’t do enough to stop this team. They can run it to Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, Goff can accurately get the ball to Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam Laporta, Jameson Williams, or how about Tim Patrick for 2 TDs? Defenses can’t decide who they want to prioritize covering, because the Lions will just go to the open guy. Believe in your good players, and they will reward you. Ask Detroit how that’s working out for them, as they are headed to the playoffs before anyone else.
