It seems the Chargers are taking no chances against this Los Vegas Raiders team, who have won two straight. As Justin Herbert said in an interview, this team is “a lot better than their record indicates.” So, it seems most of the Los Angeles starters will be suiting up this week in the final game of the season. The Raiders have been competing in the latter half of their season. They have had nothing consistent, but they have their two straight wins, plus as mentioned previously in other posts, they have been competitive against playoff teams. There are too many holes to fill and schemes to fix next year for the Raiders to talk about here, but they seem to have the blueprints of a foundation. Aidan O’Connell is not a bad QB. He’s not the best, but he has proven his ability before. Antonio Pierce is a player’s coach, and someone to help lead the organization forward. They have some playmakers in Jakobi Meyers and Brock Bowers. They just need more. Of everything. More talent, better schemes, better coaches, better ideas of what you want the organization to be. The Raiders have been a laughingstock of the league for a while, and I bet they’re getting sick of hearing that. Maybe not this year, or the next, but one day they’ll be coming.
I like the approach of Los Angeles here. This Las Vegas team is not like their record indicates. They have grit and will-power teams of their stature don’t usually carry. If they want to go out and win this game, I believe it is well within their abilities. Justin Herbert has been playing gracefully, throwing for 1,120 yards for 8 TDs and 2 INTs, on 69% passing completion. He is accurate with the rock. Plus, J.K Dobbins returned last week, so their committee is back in full swing, and Ladd McConkey has been nothing short of a technician. It’s like Julian Edelman and Wes Welker have been reborn. It’s beautiful to watch that man run routes. Alright I’m done. The point I’m making is that if this team says they want to compete, best believe they can and probably will. Good luck to Pierce and the Raiders this week.
