It's All Right There in Front of You

I may or may not be adding Michael Pennix Jr. to the list of names we will watch closely this season. Another year 2 QB that showed some legitimate flair last year. Atlanta has a roster to support him too. Guys like Bijan Robinson, Darnel Mooney, and Drake London will be looking to make even more of a mark than last year. I’m specifically interested in Mooney and London. I think Bijan will continue to do great things because he seems to be everything you want in a RB. 1,400+ yards rushing, 14 TDs, 61 receptions. All positive trends in his stats from the year prior. Like I said, no different this year. But Mooney and London had time to work with Pennix Jr. in the off-season, working on their timing, body language, and route running. And this will all payoff come game time. I hope their defense has been working hard too, because they were the negative weight of the team last year. They don’t have any real huge names outside of A.J Terrell Jr., but they can work as a collective unit. I like Pennix, hopefully he continues to play his game, and his defense can provide some backend support when he’s not on the field.
Baker, Baker, Baker. I know a few people who do not like Baker Mayfield, and I cannot fathom why, (you know who you are.) This is a team with a high-level QB firing on all cylinders, two pro bowl/all-pro WRs, a third rookie WR who is going to be off the charts, a sensational second year RB, and a well put together offensive line. Their defense could use some work in the passing game, but they had one of the best run defenses in all of football last year. They lost in an extremely close game to the Commanders in last year’s Wild Card game. But I expect the same for the Bucs. Maybe even a little better. There is no reason this team can’t come out and win their division this year like they did last year. It starts with the Falcons. I like the Bucs here, too well put together. I think the Falcons may take a game or so to really understand what they have.
