This game is relatively open and shut. I say that earnestly and with no mal intent. I would love nothing more than to write about the potential upset the Panthers have in store for the Eagles this weekend. I’d also like all of my debt to be cancelled. Anyways, the Eagles are one of the more dominant teams in the NFC, probably the NFL. With the addition of Saquon Barkley from the Giants, along with the slew of talent on that roster, the Eagles have been showing that they are not to be taken lightly. Tush-Push or not, the Eagles have been proficient in every phase of the game. They rank 1st in total defense and 4th in total offense. They have Barkley, A.J Brown, Devonta Smith, Jalen Hurts, Dallas Goedert, Jahan Dotson, and that’s before we even get to the defensive side of the ball. Jalen Hurts has played really well this year too, as usually the Eagles go as far as he takes him. He’s clocked almost 3k yards, 14 passing TDs, 12 rushing TDs, and only 5 INTs. Add Barkley to the mix, who is about 700+ yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record, and you got a recipe for success. On the flip side, the Panthers have been a hellfire for lack of a better term, but that inferno is seemingly starting to dwindle into a little campsite. They beat the Saints and Giants in the beginning of November, and then lost by a FG in two extremely close games to the Chiefs and Bucs. He’s thrown for 561 yards in the last two losses, with two TDs and no INTs. Last year was rough for Young, and after being benched earlier this year, he seems to have found something like a stride. I’m sure we will continue to see his progression, but I don’t think it’ll do much against this powerhouse of a Philadelphia team.

POSTGAME:

This is why I don’t understand the Eagles. They are, to me, extremely contradicting. They are 11-2 but they lose to the Falcons and Bucs at the start of the year. Ok, maybe you need a few games to glue together, fine. But against the Browns, Jaguars, Commanders, Rams, Ravens, and now the Panthers, you win by one score. They have blown out the Giants and the Cowboys. I mean come on. I’ll play devil’s advocate; the Panthers have been surging and could’ve come into this game knowing they were going to compete. But is the 7th ranked offense only going to score 22 points and win by 6 against the 31st ranked defense? Is the 30th ranked offense going to be able to have almost 200 yards in the air and almost 120 on the ground against the bestdefense in the league? Keep in mind, we’re talking about the Panthers. Yeah, Saquon is a good crutch with 124 yards, but Jalen Hurts had 108 yards passing. Without Saquon this team would maybe have 8 wins, but it doesn’t matter, (until it does,) because they have Saquon.
