This game has the potential to be the game of the week. Trust me on this one, and let’s walk through it together. The Cardinals just dropped two games in a row to the Vikings and the Seahawks, both being close games. There has been a lot of chatter outside Arizona about their production, ability to spread the ball, and generally their effectiveness on offense. While Kyler Murray is having a pretty good year, some expected much better. Let me be clear though, going 246/358 for 2,600 yards and 13 TDs isn’t bad at all, but with additions like Marvin Harrison Jr. and James Conner being extended recently, they have the firepower to blow teams out of the water. Trey McBride hasn’t even recorded a TD yet, despite putting up 781 yards this season. The Cardinals need to get on the same page and play a full game of football where they are dominant. I believe this game against the Seahawks will bring that out of them as they are fighting for their division against the Seahawks, and they just recently lost to them. More fuel to the fire. The Seahawks, however, will not go quietly into that good night. They are just one game ahead of the Cardinals and Rams, who are tied at 6-6, and two games above the 49ers, who are 5-7. This game is going to be huge for the NFC West. If the Seahawks win, they will be two games ahead of the Cardinals and Rams and 3-2 in their division, which is important in a division this tight. If the Seahawks lose, they will then be tied with the Cardinals for first in the NFC West. Playing a division rival always adds salt to the soup, but there will be some extra heat this Sunday. Both teams are going to come out swinging, as both teams have statistically average defenses. This game could go either way, but I think the Cardinals will bounce back at home and Kyler Murray will remind people why he was the #1 overall pick. Who knows though, that’s the beauty of the game.
POSTGAME:
Alright, so maybe it wasn’t game of the week, but it was a damn good game. Zach Charbonnet had 22 carries for 134 yards rushing, 7 catches for 59 yards, and 2 total TDs. He was the driving force behind Seattle’s victory over Arizona, which finished 30-18. The game was relatively close the whole game, with the largest lead only being 14 points, but it always felt as if the Cardinals were never close. Kyler Murray had two early INTs, after starting their first drive with a TD, and he just didn’t play as well as expected. Again. And that seems to be one of the problems with Arizona. He’s not entirely to blame at all, they do have a below average defense, but Kyler Murray was supposed to be an MVP level QB every year, and we just haven’t consistently seen that out of him. It showed in this game, and has been more than prevalent in many others. And as Seattle keeps themselves securely in first place towards a claustrophobic NFC West title race, Arizona falls behind hoping to pick up the pieces and find some consistency in the next week.
