The Commanders have a chance to breach a 12-win season, which if completed, would mark just the fourth time that has happened in franchise history. They could also firmly secure the #6th seed with a win this week. That sounds like enough motivation for me to play my starters, if I’m Dan Quinn. But I’m not, so that’s just my opinion, but here’s something that may sweeten the deal even more for you. The last time the Commanders lost this season was in Week 12, against, guess who, the Dallas Cowboys. Not only do the Commanders have a chance to bypass the negative history that has clouded this team for decades, but they can do it by beating their division rival who already beat them once this year. Washington is already in, so it doesn’t really matter, but it may for overall team moral and chemistry. I’m not saying their team chemistry is bad at all, I’m just saying that this win could do more for your team long term than resting your starters. A decision has not been made on the team, but if they do play their starters, I think Washington bags another win in Dallas, giving them 12 on the year to finish out the season.
The Cowboys will have so many questions to answer come next season. Lucky for them, it’s still this season. This will be the last game of this painful ride brought to you by Jerry Jones. Their season has been a one giant mistake. One incorrect decision after another. The Cowboys talked about winning a super bowl this year, (for like the 6th year in a row), all for them to finish out not even .500. Dak Prescott coming back may help short term, but there are locker room issues, front office issues, and a general management issue going on within this team. To ignore that, you’d have to be blind or willingly ignorant. We’ve seen this team do the same thing year, after year, after year. Play great in the regular season, fall apart come playoff time/end of the season. All these aspirations about this being “their year,” or the Cowboys being the best team in the league, have fallen painfully short every year. At some point, there must be a question about how effectively this organization is being run. Because the results have been consistent in the way Dallas doesn’t want them to be. But I guess when you haphazardly build a boat, you can blame the passengers you brought on for its engine failure. They won’t know any better. And besides, you built the boat. What are they going to do, swim?
