How about it here. Another game in which one team is in the playoffs, and another team that is out of contention. It’s not easy to pick these games with starters resting, teams’ fates already decided, and the underlying motivations for each team. For the Packers, they’ve already made the playoffs. They have their spot locked up, even if they lose. There is some motivation for Green Bay, as they have beaten the Bears in their last eleven matchups, which is the longest streak by either team in the NFL’s most seen rivalry. Whether you’re in the playoffs or not, you play to win, and I think the Packers will be playing to win with backups or starters in. We may see Malik Willis start at QB this week, but I don’t know how many starters will actually be sat. Love is a safe bet, maybe Josh Jacobs too, but the roster lineup is still in questions. I’m confident in Green Bay either way, I think their backups, or mix of starters and backups, are more than capable of beating this Chicago team that has struggled all year.

I do know the Bears will be playing to win. No doubt in my mind there. They are out of the playoffs, and while this game holds no water on the outcome of their season, I’m sure they’d like to end that eleven-game losing streak to Green Bay. The Bears have lost ten straight games. They have no won since playing in London against the Jaguars back in the beginning of October. This team has had personnel and coaching issues all season, which is not too different from their previous teams. The problem is that everyone though because they got Caleb Williams, they were set. The problem with that is if you don’t adjust your other areas of need, you’re not going to get that much farther than you were before. And the Bears once again, refused to acknowledge their needs at offensive line. We have talked about Williams holding onto the ball too long and looking generally confused, but he is a rookie. Give him some time and protection to show his abilities, (if they’re truly there.) That should be the designs next season. Every team playing a team already in the playoffs will have a chance at winning due to the second team playing, it is no different for the Bears.
